  1. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the salsa and bring it to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the tortilla chips to the skillet, gently stirring to coat them evenly with the salsa. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the chips soften slightly but are not mushy.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the chips. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Serve the chilaquiles hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, sliced avocado
