Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with 1 teaspoon of paprika, along with salt and pepper to taste. Make sure each piece is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium to high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts.
  3. Sauté the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and has a nice golden-brown crust. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
  4. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  5. In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt over medium heat.
  6. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is softened and translucent.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 3 teaspoons of paprika over the onions and stir well to combine, letting the paprika cook for about 1 minute to release its flavor.
  8. Add in diced tomatoes and simmer for 3 mintues
  9. Reduce the heat to low and return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the thickened sauce.
  10. Add the sour cream, stirring gently to blend it thoroughly into the sauce. Make sure the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  11. Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  12. Serve the paprika chicken hot, paired with your choice of bread dumplings, pasta, or rice. The creamy paprika sauce is perfect for soaking into the accompaniments.
